DIP- 8 IC Socket
In microelectronics, a dual in-line package (DIP or DIL), is an electronic component package with a rectangular housing and two parallel rows of electrical connecting pins.
The package may be through-hole mounted to a printed circuit board (PCB) or inserted in a socket.
C sockets (integrated circuit sockets) act as static connectors between integrated circuits (ICs) and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
IC Sockets are used for two primary reasons: IC sockets prevent damage to ICs caused by soldering IC chips directly to the circuit board
